Lipsett Cartage Ltd. is looking for experienced Class 1A Truck Drivers to join our team based out of Western Canada.
We operate flatbed and B-train equipment throughout Western Canada and are looking for professional drivers who take pride in safety, reliability, equipment care and customer service.
Position Details
- Position: Class 1A Truck Driver
- Location: AB, SK, MB
- Employment: Permanent, full-time
- Hours: 40–70 hours per week
- Start date: As soon as possible
- Compensation Options
Hourly position:
- $30.00 per hour
- 40–70 hours per week
- Overtime available
Percentage compensation position:
- 22% of applicable freight charges
- 50% of applicable tarp charges
- Compensation based on freight hauled and applicable company compensation policies
- Compensation structure will be discussed with qualified applicants based on the position offered, experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including flatbed and B-train equipment.
- Transport freight safely throughout Western Canada.
- Perform complete pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections.
- Properly load, secure, tarp and transport freight.
- Handle chains, straps, tarps and other cargo-securement equipment.
- Complete bills of lading, trip reports, inspection reports and other required documentation.
- Maintain accurate hours-of-service and electronic log records.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, incidents and cargo damage.
- Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch and company personnel.
- Operate safely in all weather and road conditions.
- Follow company safety policies and applicable transportation regulations.
- Maintain a clean and professional truck and work environment.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1A driver’s licence.
- Minimum 2 years of professional truck-driving experience.
- Experience operating tractor-trailer equipment.
- Flatbed experience preferred.
- B-train experience preferred.
- Experience with manual-transmission trucks.
- Experience with cargo securement and tarping.
- Satisfactory driver’s abstract.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Willingness to travel overnight and remain away from home for extended periods.
- Ability to perform physically demanding flatbed duties.
